October 15 - 18

Reading - We are reading Frog Gets a Song, Soccer Song and Now You Know About Soccer. They start on page 134 in their reader.  We will be working on the ng sound, the high frequency words (arms, school, every, use, feet, way, head and your), the plot and the contraction 'll.

Math - We will be reviewing for our chapter 3 test on subtraction.  We have really caught on to the idea of taking away through this chapter.  We will take the test on Thursday.

Writing - We will be making MaKinze a birthday book!  We will write to Miss Childers and talk about singular and plural nouns and dialogue.

Handwriting - We will work on tall and short letters, Cc and c words.

Phonics - We will be working on the suffix -ed, ee and then a Phonics assessment on Wednesday.

Spelling - We will have the Pre-Test on Tuesday and Post-Test on Thursday!

We will be doing a color and number words page for a Science grade.

Homework - They will have both reading and math homework on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  They will bring their reader home on Tuesday and Wednesday only.

October 31 - Halloween - The parade around the school and downtown will begin at 1:45. If your child needs help with their costume, please arrive from 1:00-1:30 to assist them. After the parade we will come back to the school for the party.
